October Fun

We went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday. Kaylee had the day off at school and we went with our playgroup friends from church. All the kids were younger than Kaylee but she loves playing with them. They are built-in younger siblings for her. We looked at all the pumpkins, rode the hayride and even fought off the bees. It was fun for all. Kaylee liked the giant haystack the best I think. She climbed all the way up to the top and then jumped off. I was surprised she wanted to do that. We bought a small pumpkin and she is ready to decorate it. No cutting, making it pretty.

Also, last night we went to the Coppell HS football game where Kaylee helped with the spirit line before the game with the Lairiettes (drill team). She had fun. We stayed until right after halftime and then went to Dairy Queen with Grandma, Grandpa, Jamie and Sarah. She was happy about that.

Anthony is out of town this week. He left last Thursday and will be home on Friday the 17th. It's kinda lonely around here but Kay and I have plenty to keep us busy. He also informed me before he left that he will be out of town for most of November. That isn't fun.

We have a very busy day tomorrow so I am off to bed. Tired from running around today.

Being sick stinks

I should know by now that if one of us gets sick we all get sick. Anthony felt cruddy a couple of weeks ago and stayed home on a Friday and most of the weekend. Well wouldn't you know it, I woke up extremely stuffy on that next Tuesday morning. FUN!! I had been coughing for about 2 weeks and hadn't thought much of it. But with the stuffy head, it makes life even worse. I went to our wonderful new employee health clinic which is totally free and I don't have to wait 2 weeks to get in. Well wouldn't you know it. I had bronchitis and and an infection on top of it. I had a fever and high blood pressure also. You just never know how sick you are! Antibiotics, nebulizer and nosespray here I come. So after a week of that I am now tired of all the drainage. And of course, Kaylee woke up on that Wednesday and had a sinus infection also. So pink meds for her and some yummy blue cough syrup. Which tastes better than the pink stuff any day!! I am hoping that all the meds kill anything that we have. I don't need to keep spreading it between all of us. But the kicker is....Anthony never got really sick. Never did he deal with the rest of the junk Kay and I did. That's not fair!!

So this weekend, I am going to fumagate the house. I hope to get all the germs out and we don't get sick again any time soon. But of course, when it's 90 degrees in the fall, it's hard not to get sick. I don't think that Texas knows what fall is.

First Day of First Grade

Kaylee is officially a First Grader. She was very good this morning. Even with it just being her and me this morning since Daddy is in Philly for the week. The picture with the blog is from today. She didn't want me to stay and love on her. She kissed me and said good-bye. Such a big girl. Of course she wore pink today and had her hair all done up. I can't wait to see how her day went when I pick her up. It seems like just yesterday we were doing the kindergarten thing.

Well, back to work. Talk to everyone soon.

August is Here!!

And it is still too hot. 107 yesterday, 106 today. UGH! I hate the summer. Anthony has said that so much this last week. You would think that we would get used to it, but it still hasn't happened.

Kaylee's well visit went great last week. She is 66 lbs and 50 3/4 inches tall. Wait a minute!! That's only 14 inces shorter than me. She'll be taller than me very soon. We are planning on getting her signed up for gymnastics or dance here soon. She has slowed down on the activity here recently and I don't want her to end up with the weight curse I have. She should slim down anyway when school starts from being so busy. It's just been to hot to go play outside. Plus there has been an outbreak of crypto at the pools here so we haven't been going there either. Crypto is not a friendly parasite. Lots of losing everything in you, for about 2 weeks. It's not pretty.

I am headed to Tyler this week for my second test and a seminar. Anthony gets to see a Ranger baseball game tonight from a suite. He's so excited. I can officially say that I saw a game in a suite before he did. Like 8 years ago!

Kaylee is starting to get excited about school. I know grandma can't wait for her to start. She has so graciously watched her all summer. I know she's tired by now. Kaylee spent Thursday through Saturday last week with her cousins in Aubrey. She had a blast and went swimming up there and played. It was nice to let her visit them.

Anthony bought his anniversary gift for himself last night. A Wii. He played one of our friends about a week ago and hasn't stopped talking about it since. We all were playing it last night. And Anthony didn't find it too funny that both Kaylee and I beat the pants off of him at bowling. Oh well!! This is going to be a fun game system to have. Finally something we can all play. I guess I got the better end of the deal though. He got a Wii and I got a new ring!! I definitely think I came out ahead!

Well, back to work. Have to get everything done before I go out of town. Love to all. Please send some cooler vibes our way to help with this heat.

Hot, Hot and Guess What Hot!!

It is so hot here. 105 yesterday, 105 today, pretty much the same thing for the rest of the week. How many days until the fall?

Another weekend over and it was a tornado flying by. Baby shower, birthday party, cleaning, errands. I just don't know where our weekends go anymore.

Anthony is going to New Mexico this week for a day. Kaylee is spending the night at her cousin's house Thursday and Friday.

I have my second test for my certification next week in Tyler. I have 4 tests for this cerfication. So after this I will be half way through. Keeping the fingers crossed. This course that I am testing on is a hard one.

We had a blast this weekend at Ella's birthday party. Kaylee had fun with all her friends in the pool. She was exhausted when we got home. It's amazing how tired she gets by just playing. She's ready for school to start. She's excited to be a big girl and go to First grade. She misses all her friends. She can't wait to see them again.

Well this has been very random. Sorry. Going to bed now. It's too late for me to stay up.

Love!!

My First Blog

Since this seems to be the big thing to do now, I figured I would join the club. I'll try to keep this updated as much as possible. We'll see.

Some updates:

  • Kaylee turned 6 and now is a big girl. She is 4 foot tall now and at last weigh in she was almost 60 lbs. We go for her 6 yr wellness check next week so I know I'll have more updates for her after that.

  • Anthony got a new job and is loving it. Actually at this moment he is in Salt Lake City visiting an oil refinery. He now works for Holly Corporation in Downtown Dallas. He is looking forward to growing with this company. Yes he's still tall and lanky.

  • I am currently still working for the City of Carrollton. I am finishing my certification as a Municipal Clerk (a.k.a City Secretary). I should be finished with all the homework by the end of the year. However, with the seminar schedule that I need to attend, I have to go to one seminar in August of next year and that will put off my graduation a whole year. But I'm not stressing about it. I'll have all the work and knowledge just not the piece of paper on the wall. No problem.

  • We went to St. Louis for the 4th of July. It was the first time in 5 years that Anthony had been back to see my family. Kaylee was extremely spoiled of course. We got to see mom and Jerry, Uncle J (as Kaylee calls him), both sets of grandparents (K's great grandparents), my aunt and uncle from Georgia, my great uncle from Georgia and my dad's sister and her family. It was a whirlwind trip but it was worth it. We also got to see a bunch of people I grew up with at one of my dearest friends wedding. I still can't believe that Jordan got married. He'll always be my little bro!!

  • No more kiddos yet for us, but it may be in the future. We both want to get settled in our new careers and get ourselves in a better financial situation. It's getting there. If all goes to plan, we could be trying in the next year and half. We'll see.

  • Anthony and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary in 2 weeks. Sometimes I can't believe it's been 10 years. We have so much fun learning and loving each other. Kaylee just adds to that love.

All I can really say for the weather here in Texas is HOT!!!!! It was 103 today without the heat index. My poor grass will just be brown until October. Why waste the water on the dead grass. I do have overgrown trees and bushes I need to tend to but just can't get myself to go outside. It's going to be hot for awhile so I don't know why it seems to hit so hard every year. The dogs don't even like to go out when it's this hot.

Well I need to get Kaylee ready for bed and get some laundry done so I'll end this premier blog. Hope to hear from everyone. The picture posted is one taken of Kaylee just 3 days ago. Scary how much she looks like me.

Love to all!!
